GlucoRX Nexus v Freestyle Freedom Lite

I am type 2 on 2x500g Metformin daily, and previously my glucose readings have been in the normal range. Recently this has changed, but more worryingly I am very confused about the difference in the readings.

I was given a Freestyle Freedom Lite, which has recently been changed to a GlucoRX Nexus by my GP. I thought that the readings were rather high, so I have just done a 2 hour post prandial test using the same drop of blood on both meters. The Freestyle Freedom Lite measured 10.1, and the GlucoRX Nexus measured 15.3. This is a huge difference - surely something is not right?

hi i do not use these meters but there should not be this big difference i would go back & have a word with your gp sorry cannot be much use.

I don't use these meters, though I have seen comments by others saying the nexus reads high compared with other meters. I have the freestyle light as a back up meter and when I have compared the readings to the Bayer contour next usb meter and the reading were similar to each other.

I have had the same problems on the nexus rx, on occasion i multiple tested and had upto an 8 point difference over a 3/test 3/minutes session.
At best "the averages" do show my lo carb 3xgym/week regime is working, but i have not found consistent accuracy :-/

Looking for another meter i can rely on, thankfully i'm a T2

I too have a glucorx nexus. The instructions do tell you to wipe the first drop of blood the rest using the second. Yes I do,when I retest using same blood, find a difference in readings. (9.2, 8, 8.7)
But my recent hba1c (42=6%) was in line with my estimated value (5.9%). Every other day I test the fasting one and then 2 hours after a meal (different one each day) with bed time test if my 2+dinner was high. Also test before and after meal if I eat something I have not had before.
I use the android app 'on track' to record my readings. This gives me a hba1c estimate.
I was diagnosed 5 months ago,so only have 1 hba1c reading to compare with my estimated one.
