How quickly do you notice your blood sugars levelling out when on LCHF?

One of the reasons why I started LCHF on Saturday was that my blood sugar has been all over the place lately, so I wanted to bring it down and keep it down.
I'm on my third day in and quite shocked that my 2 hour post prandial blood sugars are still about 11mmol, give or take. Fasting is about 8 to 8.5mmol.
Carbs wise, I'm aiming around 20g a day for the first few weeks and aim to up to around 30g long term.

Last time I did LCHF (at least 2 years ago), my sugars were instantly lower and in the 4 to 5 range.

Can it be that it takes a while for glucose levels to drop to a more normal range, and I'm expecting too much too soon? Or should I be considering going back to my DSN for a review?

Have you got a hidden carb somewhere ? Also have just just changed test strips, these could be reading a little high ? or you need a little more time .. keep recording your numbers and food .. I would personally give it a week or two .. before I start to worry.

It's only Monday, give it a chance. You say you have been all over the place recently, perhaps you have some sort of minor illness - we just can't shake off an ongoing cold at the moment and this sort of thing can affect measurements.
Some people do find that getting their base level, i.e. fasting, down takes a while. Others, as you did previously, find it happens quickly. What have you been eating for the past couple of days, could there have been hidden carbs?

I saw a gradual drop with mine. Instant improvement, but not normal numbers for a while.

What were your numbers prior to Saturday?

I'll give it a little more time.
A typical work day has consisted of a few slices of Roast Chicken, or a boiled egg for breakfast. Mid morning snack of cheese, or olives (about 5 kalamata olives). Lunch has been chicken or tuna with a green salad and some avocado (which I've just checked on and has more carbs than I thought). A glass of almond milk during mid afternoon. Dinner has been varied. Last night was an omelette with broccoli, mushrooms and cheese. The night before was steak with spinach, cabbage, and mushrooms in a creamy cheese sauce.
I drink mostly water with the exception of the afternoon almond milk, a cup of coffee with cream in it first thing, and one black filter coffee mid morning from a coffee club at work.

Prior to Saturday my numbers were anywhere from 9mmol to 17mmol. So they have dropped, just not as much as I expected! I guess this is all about tweaking the diet!

Give it chance to settle down, you have glucose stores in your body that will take a few days to use,
Protein converts to glucose to some degree as well.
It may be worth kickstarting the process a little by more fat, less protein.

If it's any help my sugars levelled out almost straight away but after about 3 or 4 weeks I went through about a week of high sugars which again has settled down now
