Glucose levels, please help

Hi guys,
I’ve been on and off insulin for years because my glucose levels are constantly up and down. I’m currently on insulin, and my glucose levels seem to just be getting worse and I feel like I’m constantly increasing my insulin.
I currently use levemir and I’m only on small amounts (6U a day), previously my sugars were perfectly fine on 2U, but I’ve had to keep increasing as my sugars just seem to catch up.
Two weeks ago I was on 5U and my sugars were going up to around 9/10 after tea so I increased to 6U and they were fine for about a week and now they’re even higher than they were previously around 10-13. It’s making me feel really anxious and I just don’t know what to do about it all.
My glucose levels also seem to be perfectly fine after eating, then 2 hours later start to rise, so when I do fast acting with meals, they go hypo because my sugar levels are ok at that point.
I try to go for a walk after tea which helps somewhat but I’m not always able to do it as I have two young kids too.
I had the nexplanon contraceptive implant put in in October 2022 and wondering if that could possibly have anything to do with my awkward levels?
Any advice is appreciated, also looking for something thats good to snack on as I’m trying to improve my eating and stuff to help.
I’ve asked my diabetes team but said my sugars are fine and to leave them because they’re mostly ok throughout the day, it’s just the after tea struggle and because my 4yo has started school they think they could naturally improve anyway.
I’m just an anxious mess and it’s getting me down haha

Hi @NatalieWilliamsXx and welcome to the forums.

I'm a T1 and so produce no insulin at all and can definitely confirm that insulin needs change. They are affected by a vast number of things eg stress, illness, exercise, the weather, hormones (so maybe a contraceptive implant though I would have thought that that would level things out?). And your situation is presimably even more complicated because you don't know how much your pancreas is able to help out?

So my feeling would be to try to relax and not stress.

Can I ask what sort of diet you are eating? Am guessing that lower carb snacks might be better for you?
.

Yeah, I understand that they change I just didn’t realise they could change constantly and so fast.
I have CFRD so I have to eat a high calorie diet and I’m really struggling with what I can eat that will help me gain weight.
At the minute I’m just eating fruit and nuts which seem to help level it out, and on a whole my sugars are pretty level between 6-8 throughout the day until I have my tea. I have no idea what sort of meals would be good because my diabetes team have said I don’t need to change my diet, I definitely feel like I do though to prevent the highs so I’m just at a loss really‍♀️
I don’t even know of any low carb snacks it’s all pretty new to me because previously my sugars have been fine, apart from getting a lot of hypos
