Hi,

I was camping in my motorhome last weekend and when attempting to check my blood glucose level I was getting an error which looked like 1lo. Thinking there was a problem with the meter i tried to do this on my spare meter but it gave the same message. I eventually figured that it was because the temperature was too low I had to therefore turn on a heater and place my monitor next to it for a while before I could get it to work. I was unaware that the monitor would not work in cold conditions so just thought it would be useful information to pass on.

Yup seen this too. Cold meter / strips or especially cold hands has given me these results.
When out and about I tend to keep my meter in an inside pocket which seems to keep these errors to a minimum.

On the flip side if you are ever able to get your hands on a FreeStyle Libre they dont care at all and have been great for me since I got mine a couple weeks ago :)

Yes. To cold or to hot will do it. Condensation can also kill it. My brother-in-law had his hearing aid give up because condensation in a caravan a couple of weeks ago. Not cheap.:greedy:

keep the meter in your pocket, problem solved :)

I have same issue when kayaking, sometimes have to warm up my meter (pump remote) inside my drysuit before it will work. Much better since I got the Dexcom as this seems to not have any temp issues that I've seen, although pump remote still can be.

I put my remote in the thick walking sock, then in a small dry bag in my front pocket of my cag, this seems to do the trick.
