After c45 years of good control, I've noticed over the past couple of weeks I'm having to take a lot more insulin to control my diabetes, I'm not ill or gain weight or reduced my excersise.
some days I'm have to double my insulin to get the glucose down I'm also noticing my glucose can spike very quickly.
I'm be off to the docs soon but has any one else experienced this sudden change
For into I'm 66.

Hi @Jonpar00 and welcome to the DCUK forums . The first obvious questions to ask is
1) what type of diabetes do you have? (guessing T1?)

You say you aren't ill but I do wonder whether you could have something without symptoms, as that would be the first question I would ask if i experienced this. (54 years T1)

Hi Ellie, You are correct. I'm T1 (45 yrs)
As I've said, I'm certainly not ill, but you may be correct i could be coming down with something .
I'm managing to get the levels down by lots of exercise, but I'm not sure that's maintainable.

Have you only adjusted your mealtime insulin or have you made some changes to your basal dose as well?

When my basal dose is off for whatever reason, I find it very hard to correct with just bolus.

Hi Antje, i haven't changed my levermire dosage , however, things have slightly improved. The only change I've done over the past few days is increased my water intake. It seems to be helping...
