Hello all,
Last year my GP carried out a string of blood tests on me one of which was diabetes. Everything came back fine with no problems.
However, a few weeks ago, my GP requested another blood test only this time fasting over night for 12 hours.
I've been feeling ill for a few months now, generally tired and fatigued and so I only got the test carried out on wednesday of last week.
On saturday, I recieved a letter from my GP advising me to tnow make an appointment for a glucose Tolerance test.
Naturally, I was quite alarmed seeing as last years results were fine.
I dont have any of the 'normal' symptoms of diabetes except for tiredness, itching and sore tired eyes. All of these I had attributed to one of my other ailments. (I have a list of health problems including hypothyroidism, compartment syndrome, osteoporosis, cancer....blah..blah..blah!!)
I also have a few other symptoms that I wondered whether they could be related. I have been suffering from a lot boils on various parts of my body. (none of which are down to lack of hygene, I hasten to add) and a sore on my leg that refuses to heal.
I've also noticed that I have been sweating from my head a whole lot more upon slight exertion, but had put that down to the menopause.
I would never expect anyone on here to diagnose whether I have diabetes or not, but just wondered if these were the type of symptoms that might be related to a diabetic condition?
I am petrified that I might now be diagnosed with diabetes becasue I have a very poor appetite and am a strict vegetarian.
Any advice will be very gratefully recieved and I thank you inadvance for your help.
Thank you,
Jennifer
