Turning out to be a bad news thread for you, isn't it
All Bran has an awful lot of sugar in it.
From http://www.kelloggs.co.uk/en_GB/all-bran-original.html
per 100 g; 48g of carbohydrates 18g sugar 30g starch.
So 48% carbohydrate - I know it spikes me through the roof which is a shame because I used to like it as a breakfast cereal.
Never mind, have bacon and eggs instead.

More bad news......
....a McDonalds breakfast is not what we are calling a 'fry up'. In a diabetic fry up you don't have the muffin or the hash brown. Both are carbohydrates.
The cappucino is also likely to be high carb. 10g of carbs in a medium cup, all sugar.
If you eat in McDonalds you can do pretty well as long as you leave the bun, don't have fries or hash browns or any other starchy add-on, and drink unsweetened coffee, tea, or plain water.
Most commercial food outlets make their profit on the cheap bulk carbohydrates they use to pad out the meals.

Thanks for that.Yes i realise its gunna be a long hard struggle.Nothing in life is ever that straight forward. If it was it wouldnt be fun would it.We strive to make a healthier and better life and to try and live longer.I gave up smoking in January 2013 that was a hard step and already my body is feeling healthier. Now i need to loose some weight and increase my life span even more.Wednesday's test will be the start of a new chapter for me.Wether it reveals yes i am diabetic or no im not (hopefully the latter) ill still need to sit down with the diabetic nurse and thrash out a new healthier regime i guess.Id like to get down from currently being around 95kg to a healthier say 70kg.
If you want a piece of advice.
If the food industry and all the media and adverts say it is 'healthy'. Then it's not for prediabetics or diabetics!
Low fat is more sugar and carbs! Low sugar is more sugar and carbs!
You need to realise that everything changes when you are diagnosed.
Sorry to hear it.The results came back and sadly im diabetic.Off to see the diabetic nurse next Thursday morning.
