Oh my, testing is a godsend. Try your utmost to get a hold of a meter. It's the only way to see how certain foods, exercise, stress, tiredness, extracurricular (We're not self testing but I'm going to speak to the nurse about it.
Yay!! Birthday cake, share a slice with me please28/6 - Good Afternoon Folks. It has not stopped rating since I got up at 6am!! Next we will be having Floods with the 2 Rivers bursting their banks, that York is nestled in between.
Cannot see the point in leaving home 'early' to get to my Hospital Diabetic Appointment with 5 minutes to wait. Only to be called in 30 minutes past my Appointment. And be in the Consultation Room not even 15 minutes!!!
Anyway, I thought my HBA1C would be up = but only slightly from May (65) it's now 68. my Cholesterol remains the same as May 3.9. Ferritin (Iron) Count up to 19(from 13).
But, I see the Liver Specialist on the 31st July, and having my Bloods done the week before, so this gives me a month to get my HBA1C down a bit.
No lunch today, going to see Parents-in-Law at 2pm'ish and eat a slice of Birthday Cake with Coffee. Out for meal at 5pm have got table booked for the Birthday Boy and its my treat.

Hope you are all having a good day. William x
Yes pleaseThere are 2 popular meters used by members on this Forum as they are considered the cheapest - I can provide you with the sites to have a look.
I used to have very good very tight control but having tough time with mental health issuesHi @spook_kate_ - Have you got tight control of your Blood Sugars? You being Type 1 really ought to get your HBA1C done? Will you make that appointment (soon) and get your Bloods done? = Pretty Please.
There's a lot of Helpful and Knowledgeable Type 1's on this Forum who would help you get back on track.
Half the Birthday Cake is here with us, I only had a very thin slice this afternoon and it set my "taste buds dancing" with all the sugar in the Buttercream, Apricot Jam, melted Chocolate on top and frosted decorations.
ThanksHi @heh - From time to time we all get problems on this Forum with logging in or posting.
The SD Codefree Meter is popular on here as the Test Strips are the cheapest to buy. State you are Diabetic as you are exempt from Vat. In the UK we use mmol/L. And if you buy test strips in bulk they work out even cheaper.

5 packs = 264986. 10 packs = 975833.
This next one is also popular on here - the Meter is provided Free. The Test Strips and Lancets are reasonably cheap to buy. Again state you are Diabetic for VAT exemption and we use mmol/L in the UK.

Do it! It's the best way to track your progress. We're not self testing but I'm going to speak to the nurse about it.
Sending you hugs, my son is autistic and has been struggling with his mental health since he was a teenager (he's now 23).I used to have very good very tight control but having tough time with mental health issuesalso spent last 2-3 months falling off wagon diet wise. Kept up exercise but still put on over stone in weight. I kind of dread the thought of getting the HbA1c done because then it's proof how bad it is at the moment.
OK I will phone and arrange for an appointment to get it done
I know how very wonderful the members are on here, helps keep me sane and alive!! Thank you all for your lovely support xx
Afternoon.
Didn't post my fasting this morning as it was much higher than what it was before bed.
But, then could it had been a Liver Dump during the early hours? Or could it be that I am suffering with Stress and Upset? At 'someone' who has caused trouble and split up a very good friendship I had with another member on this Forum. = Hope you are pleased with yourself?
@Cumberland = I will accept the "man hug" = Thank You Ian, very much appreciated.
@Liam1955. Hi Liam sorry to hear your upset, don't worry or get stressed it's the last thing we diabetics need. Hopefully it will all work out in time. Wish you well & sending big hugs. XAfternoon.
