@Liam1955 thsnks. Hope your feeling better now & not in pain anymore xHappy New Year @maureen5752
I'm sorry to hear this news, William, but I imagine it's a combination of the drugs and the fact that you've been in such pain which has raised your HbA1c. It might be a little more helpful if they had decided to do something more to help you in that respect, rather than simply shoving you in the direction of the DN again, though. It's hardly as if you don't know what you're doing with regard to controlling your diabetes!!Good Afternoon Folks.
Attended Hospital appointment today and I am shocked at the effect of taking Morphine has had on my HBA1C or could it be a combination of Drugs and sheer Pain together, that has sent my HBA1C up more? I knew from my blood sugars being raised that my HBA1C was up and I expected it to be round about 65 Mark? = Never expected the shock that it is 76.................my last result way back in October 2016 was 60.
My Aneamia is back and been instructed to see my GP to have the Iron Tablets 're- prescribed. Also instructed to make appointment to see the Practise Diabetic Nurse.
Cumberland not good. You?
Your on the same patches as Ron . Today he had his upped to 10 micrograms.Good Evening Folks.
Saw GP this afternoon. Stopped the Tramadol and Lyrica Pain Relief Tablets (I stopped the liquid Morphine a week ago) and I have been prescribed instead Butec Patches to give me continually pain relief. Just have to wear 1 patch that lasts for 7 days at a time. Also been put back on the Ferrous Fumarate (Iron) Tablets take 2 every day for a month and then have my Bloods done to check Ferritin levels which presently stand at 15.
Also got appointment to see the Practise Diabetic Nurse for this Thursday and see if any pointers for getting my HBA1C down!
@Liam1955. Glad to hear your getting yourself sorted out Liam, hope things go well with DN on Thursday. Wish you well & regards to R. Take care xGood Evening Folks.

He started on 5 which had no effect and today has been raised to 10. So hopefully fingers crossed it works . I hope they work for you as well. Nothing worse than pain . He also had his assessment today for blue badge. What a load of Tosh that was.Hi @tina_marie - That's interesting, and how is Ron feeling on them? Just started on the 10mg patch (it takes 3 days before the full effect is obtained) and the GP will ring me after 1 week to ask how the pain is being controlled and if the patches need increasing. I will try "anything" to get rid off this bloody draining, gnawing pain that is driving me almost crazy!
@Liam1955 good luck Liam. Hope all turns out well for youToday, had my Bloods done to check my Vit D level - seeing the Rheumatologist on Monday 16th and wonder if I am going to actually get a diagnosis? In 5 years been given 2 diagnosis's only to have the Rheumy change their mind.
@Liam1955 hi Liam, it's not easy I know, patience isn't easy, I'd be like you worrying thinking the worst, but don't, they are taking time but they are checking & testing so try not to stress & worry, I know it's hard, but stress Isnt going to help you or your diabetes, by testing they will hopefully get the correct result & treat accordingly, I wish you well & hope everythink is sorted soon & you will be fit & well, take care. XThanks @mo53 and @maureen5752 - would be nice to have a definate diagnosis and then I can be treated accordingly, but don't expect it! It seems nowadays it is tests, and tests and more tests, which is fair enough but it makes me think/wonder whatever the condition is it's not being treated? Surely it's going to get worse? Will let you know the outcome.
