@ickihun - Hi Vicky . What dosage of the Tramadol has the GP put you on? Not everyone takes to it, so give it time chance to work.
I saw a different GP (same practise) and she was really nice - (made a note of her name, as might see her again).
She examined my Foot/Ankle, read up my notes and A & E report which stated No fracture or break in any Bones.
GP said it could be 'Gout'??. Not everyone who suffers Gout has uric acid crystals deposited in/on the Joints. So, having a Blood Test to check on my Uric Acid Levels. And I am being referred for treatment to the Hospital Muscular-Skeletal/Physiotherapy Department for my Ankle/Foot.
Groan = another appointment!!!

I hope they will get to the bottom of ankle/foot swelling. Are you no longer on diuretic? I wonder if you had if swelling would have gone by now? Only bad thing about dapagliflozin is cannot have diuretic too.
 

Furosemide only got stopped last Thursday by GP because of starting the Dapagliflozin on Friday. But, I did the Ankle 5 weeks ago and it's the Ankle joint's both outer and inner that are stiffened and at the back of my heel = Achilles Tendon. I'm already doing foot exercises, the skin is taut with all the swelling and still pain when walking too much.
Tramadol is a good pain killer - but, don't go mad and start doing lots of stuff when it 'numbs' the pain!
Yeah, let me know what dosage is?

Have got my daily Insulin down to 38 units a day. (19 morning and 19 at 6pm) might get it down even more?

Tummy not so bloated by codeine. Codeine sent back to chemist.
I miss swimming the most.

It's all to do with cut-backs and saving money. Gone are the days of getting a Blood Glucose Meter free, except those Diabetics who are on Insulin and others who are taking Gliclazide as with being on these there is a possibility of sugars dropping and going Hypo.
If the person is only Diet controlled or on Metformin some Medical Practises are telling patients not to bother testing their Blood Sugars!
But, you need to be testing to keep good control and in doing this you can tell which foods you can eat that don't raise your Blood Sugars and those foods to avoid as they send your blood Sugars high.
There is a website that a lot of Forum Members buy Glucose Meters, plus Strips and Lancets from - the Test Strips are the cheapest there is to buy.
I can provide you with the website to take a look? And also provide you with an excellent LCHF Diet that is very popular with a lot of Forum Members who loose weight, lower their Blood Sugars too.

Morning Liam1955 would be interested in both the info. on LCHF diet and where to get the meter lancets and test strips thank you very much. How are you today ,I'll be out with dogs after my coffee around 8 am,what you upto , on the subject of meter supplies to none medicated diabetes how can anyone keep a check on what spikes there BG if they have nothing to do it with. Surely if they gave out meters etc. and we had better control there would be less diabetic complications so less medication needed and less hospital time.That would be a massive saving to both the doctors practice and NHS! What do other think on this ? They only seem to take the easy route and give you more pills to pop,this is Our Health there playing about with.Or do you think that's the intention ,less older population more money in the governments coffers,we have worked hard all our lives to enjoy the privilege of good health care! Sorry for the long rant it gets me so mad

You don't need to speak to a doctor.

Just do a search online for "free blood sugar meter"

From the results find a meter you like, fill out the application and just tick the insulin dependant box.

The company's don't check with anyone. You could always put fake information in and have the meter sent to your neighbour for example..

People do it all the time.

I bought ten boxes on eBay for a little over a fiver, amazingly, they were still in date..
