Could the administration and hierarchy on this site not put out a petition we type2s could sign and anyone else who thinks we should have access to a BG meter and prescription for strips and lancets sometimes it takes more than one or two people complaining to get things changed.Hello again @Granny_grump_,
I agree with the points you have made in your posting, but what can be done?
I would have thought that Medical Practises would get bulk deliveries of Blood Glucose Meters possibly free? from travelling Medical Reps up and down the Country.
But, unless you are using Insulin or Gliclazide you would get a free Meter. But being on Metformin or just Diet Controlled you are not eligible.
You mentioned in your posting you would like some information on the LCHF Diet (Low Carb High Fat) a lot of Forum Members follow this diet and there has been a lot of success with it, in that in can lower HBA1C, day to day Blood Sugars and loose weight too. Here are 2 more websites, just click on them and have a look.

And if you would like ? I can give directions to go to other diets that people follow on this Forum.

To tag a member @Granny_grump_ you must put the @ sign infront of their name. See your name I've tagged here @Granny_grump_ . When site is running well you should get a notification due to @ tag. Should. Give it ago. Tag @Liam1955 and me for practice in your post.Liam wouldn't know how to tag, what do I do to get in touch with them, sorry for being such a divvy
I think you need @Administrator @Granny_grump_ . I hope you don't mind me assisting.@Administration Apologise if I overstep the boundaries but this NHS rule on no meters unless your on meds.or insulin would it not be more cost effective to supply to everyone a meter to do the things your advocating allowing type2s to monitor everything they eat to regulate Blood Glucose levels. I am fully aware of spending cuts, but if people could regulate their own BG then in theory no more meds. Less hospitalisation more money to GP s and hospitals instead of handing out pills has an easier option but hugely costly.
Could we has a group of diabetics who are on the whole trying to keep more healthy have a petition so we could try and reverse their decision on this.Who better to stand up for us than all who have suffered from wrong information from NHS for most of our Diabetic lives. Not trying to stir ill feelings just trying to help people,it's like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. But that's my opinion!may be there are many more who now have to buy there meter etc.who feel the same?
I have edited it for you @Granny_grump.Tried editing the message don't think it's worked?
Hi Catherinecherub do you mean the message I've tried to send to administrators this morning,I'm not computer savvy people on here do try and help and it's much appreciated. So if the administrators get my message about type 2 and meters what happens then.?I have edited it for you @Granny_grump.
Much much better than codeine. My 'shelve' has disappeared. Hurray! I get about 2 and a half hours reprieve an hour after taking 2 tablets. Mr ickihun is happier as once i've slept im not in pain at home. Walking is just pressured and uncomfortable but agony has gone!@ickihun - Vicky, Taking Tramadol could worsen Asthma and cause more wheezing. And it can cause in some people 'bloating of the stomach' too.
How are your Bowel movements since taking the Tramadol? W
