Hi my bloods have been under 10 for two days which i am really happy about :D
However yesterday and today my left kidney feels like it has been hit by a train .I phoned the DR yesterday and she told me to take paracetomel which is ok but they make me sick. Does anyone else get this kidney pain :?:
Like most of us i spend most of the day back and forward to the loo
I am just at the end of my first month from diagnosis ( type 2 ) 2 x 80mg twice a day.
Any advice would be appreciated :?
Thanks in advance JF.

I get really bad kidney pian often but mine is down to kidney stones and frequent urine infections due to the stones.
you should go to the doctor and get an urine test done it might be in an infection that needs antibiotics or might be something else but if I were you id make an appointment and not be fobbed off to take paracetamol.
if it is an infection your urine will be cloudy and smelly and might have blood in it.

I get that quite a lot too. :( Do you only get it the pain on your left side? I get it on both - but not at the same time, thank goodness! I do take paracetamol and codeine to take the pain away, but I would like to know what it is as I haven't asked my GP yet. If I do complain of a pain anyway, she always says it's the diabetes! So I guess I have my answer already. But, yes, it should be checked out.

MMM
Makes you wonder does'nt it i would swear i have had this pain for 2/3 yrs and my DR has never acknowledged it . As you can see from the other reply this could be quite important for our kidney's. I am gouing to be on the phone tommorow and get to the bottom of it !
I will post again tommorow when i get an answer.

Thanks for reading my thread.

I had sharp kidney (region) pain on diagnosis and still get it on and off on the left side. When diagnosed I became as paranoid as we all do and having done dozens of Google searches, convinced myself that I was about to lapse into kidney failure. However, since then my microalbumin tests and kidney function tests have been fine!

All the best - Steve
