Hi all

Got results of HB today 5.8 which I am really pleased with. In Nov 09 it was 125% (sorry don't know what that converts to) & I weighed 97 kgs, now I'm 76 kgs. Gone from a size 20 to a 14 (new wardrobe needed now lol). I know other people have done better, quicker, but I am pretty chuffed with that. I don't know any other diabetics so just wanted to share this with somebody who would understand

Thanks for reading

Hi Shell

Thank you. It's all down to a brill DSN (who is now leaving :problem: ) & "stalking" this forum for a couple of months & discovering lower casrbs lol

Thank you DiaDeb. More weight to lose & I need to stop these annoying lows, 2.2 is scary! (DSN has reduced Glic today) & hopefully life will seem better

Congratulations and well done, it doesnt matter how long it takes you to achieve your goal, its not a race, and you have done really well there. Good to hear that you have a supportive DSN, but at the end of the day its still you doing all the hard work of putting theory into practice.
Thanks for posting, its encouraging and inspiring to hear success stories.
All the best x

Thank you WJet. I was really worried about posting (I'm a big scaredy cat lol) but it been lovely to have some nice comments back.

Thank you all for your lovely comments, It's so nice to know I have "friends" out there. I have other health problems which has influenced how I approached dealing with my D. I have OCD so I tend to have the same breakfast (yoghurt, dried fruit & nuts) lunch is a salad (green stuff~yuck lol) with cheese & eggs or tuna. (Takes me about a hour to prepare! OCD means dicing things all the same size). Then tea is late, about 9ish & my OH cooks that, which is super. The slight problem with that is his idea of a "balanced" meal is pizza, chips & garlic bread!! lol. But I'm working on that lol., I'm also agoraphobic so exercise is a problem, but on "good" days I walk to the corner shop, perhaps once a week atm.

Sorry if I've rambled on but I have no~one who understands the daily grind of having D. This forum has been a life saver for me, literally.

Hope you have all enjoyed Halloween. My OH went to work dressed as Magenta from Rocky Horror Show~looked better than me in stocking & suspenders lol

I saw dn the other day & really pleased with me cholesterol down to 3 something & sugars well down cannot remember what she said. But had to stop simvastatin for 10days because of medication for chest infection but she is so pleased all results good

Smartlady, considering everything else you've got going on you have done a fantastic job.
Definetly deserve some retail therapy and there are some great websites for new clothes, maybe treat OH by showing him how good you look now in some new undies ;-)
