Good Morning

Good Morning Everyone from Yours Truly. One hell of a reading this morning on my back up meter - ie - bad! I wonder if you can have Dawn Phenomenon without having a hypo .....

Interesting discovery! lol The backup meter strips I have just discovered had not only expired last August but did not have the same code as on the container! lol So I would imagine all the readings for the last week were up the swanee!

17/2 - Good Morning from looks like it's going to be a Sunny day in York - the sky is a pinky colour!
Hugs to all the poorly people :). And everyone else have a good Friday.
This morning going to GP Practise to have my Bloods taken, GP wants to check my Uric Acid Levels to see if I have Gout or not? Ankle/Foot is still swollen, but I can bear weight on it now.
My Sleep Pattern has gone iffy? Have only had 3 hours!
R and I off shopping after Bloods done - to Home Bargains (Like:)) and then Morrison's (not Like :bored:). Want to get some 'treats' for our babysitting tomorrow night of the Grandchild.

Lovely post Liam! How old is the grandchild? I'm back yo my usual meter today but the fasting reading - eek! I woke up around 3.30 am - hot and I thought surely not a hypo so I didn't test but now wonder. In the last couple of weeks I had increased the insulin by two units. Maybe now since my infections have gone, it's now too much?

@Hpetal Hi, I'm answering you here as the fasting blood numbers thread is for just that, posting fbg
Do you follow a low carbohydrate diet? I found that following the LCHF diet brought my numbers down into the normal range underneath this post is the link to a very good web for LCHF diet. This site diabetes.uk also offers a free low carb programme which can be accessed from the home page. Let us know how you get on. Good Luck!

Hi S, Granddaughter is just over 3 months old, Mum & Dad going out for late Valentine Meal (they've not been out for many months) Mum is expressing for me to bottle feed and R gets to attend to the other end = Nappy Changing !!!! That's a fair deal - I reckon.

yes I did the program last year, and am sticking to a moderate LCHF diet. and have lost 8 kgs since Christmas, I suffer with fibromyalgia and IBS and have had some stressful times lately within the family, which I know doesn't help. I have posted a new thread called Super high bg. I am struggling ....

I'm so sorry to hear that, I do combine lchf with exercise, I have around 50-100 g carbs daily 5 days per week other 2 days I eat 20g only. When I was getting my bloods down I had no more than 20g carbs each day but I find that I can tolerate more now. I also have 2x 40mins walking every day, more at weekends. I have other medical conditions too, it is really hard to keep the carbs down and exercise up in times of illness or stress you have my heartfelt sympathy. The only other thing that I can suggest is that, if you can't reduce your carbs further you may have to speak to your diabetes nurse/GP about your high BG levels. Good luck

Morning all , bit on the misty side here today . Came down stairs this morning to find the dog all cuddled into Ron both asleep. Apparently he does it every night . This past week getting Ron back on track with more testing . His readings have been quite normal to. Hope you all have a good weekend and can't wait for the York trip. X

'Morning Everyone. Good start for me with my fasting blood sugar down to 6.3! The Archers meet up in central London at midday. I may go but wonder if it will be just old fogies!

I've woke feeling very ill. Severe headaches and nausea. I feel my head is spinning. Carb detox?

Oh poor you maybe the flu like I just have caught It seems to hit really many This year .... my excema has worsened by lower carbing or rather I did actually not have excema om my hands for 10 years until I lowered my carbs. Maybe there is something one do not automatically can transform if the body is not used to live from only proteins and fats , maybe the body do specialise a lot after many years on a certain kind of eating style . Hope you'll feel better soon dear

Morning folks, apologies for my absence this week - I've been dashing about like a clockwork mouse again. @Liam1955 hope your babysitting went well last night, your granddaughter is going to be a very spoiled little lady!

18/2 - Good Morning from a Sunny and not too cold York.
Hope you all have a enjoyable day.
Hugs sent to all the poorly folk. And Thank You @Diamum5972 - Yes, she is the First Grandchild and we just heard this morning that R's Brother's Daughter is expecting her First Baby in August this year.
