Good news :-)

Thanks for the info noblehead.

I have to go and get a fasting blood test as my previous one wasnt . I didn't realise it had to be a fasting one for a break down of my cholesterol.

Yes it does, some say to fast for 12 hours but my surgery say 10 hours is sufficient, however I try and fast for 12 just to be on the safe side!
 
Well done Patch!! I always like to hear about new low carb type 1 converts :)

I have also just been put on a statin after 6 months ish of low carbing, everything going in the right direction, hbA1c wise, but cholesterol, even though it isn't that high is staying about the same, slightly higher than what my team want it to be.... I think the fact I am on a 'high fat diet' automatically made my dietician freak out and put me on statins! No adverse effects so far, just a massive drop in LDL cholesterol! I couldn't agree with all the above posts and advice more- low carb is the future!

Good to know you've had no side-effects with the statin and its lowered your cholesterol Lisa :thumbup:
