Thanks, certainly interesting. The curve charts in that study show significant post prandial effect in GSE treated participants.Sounds like a very interesting self experiment.. be interesting to see if today's results are the same. Good luck!
The only caveat I would say is that the subjects were all very young (low 20's) and in good health with BMI's in the "healthy" region so the results may not work so well with insulin resistant Type 2's with a few more miles on the clock.. Still a very worthy trial by your good self. Thanks, certainly interesting. The curve charts in that study show significant post prandial effect in GSE treated participants.
Other studies I've read point to it as being more effective than metformin but as usual I approach these things with a big dose of scepticism until I can prove it works.
Yes, I noticed that... That said, 3 months ago I was a metabolic mess and now am at BMI 20.8, 14% body fat and high BP has normalised through LC and exercise so am probably fitter than I was at 20 despite being 52.The only caveat I would say is that the subjects were all very young (low 20's) and in good health with BMI's in the "healthy" region so the results may not work so well with insulin resistant Type 2's with a few more miles on the clock.. I did take GSE for BP control last year before I started monitoring glucose so had it in the cupboard and thought I'd give it a go when I stumbled across this study.
Nothing else has changed other than the GSE for 2 days and I am definitely seeing lower numbers by some margin so I'm crossing my fingers.
So, tonight I went heavier on the carbs and added baked beans. Something I haven't eaten in over 3 months.Great news.. I'm tempted to get some myself now.. please keep up the reports.. sounds like you are doing a great job.
WOW if I ate that much I wouldn't be able to move hahaSo, tonight I went heavier on the carbs and added baked beans. Something I haven't eaten in over 3 months.
4 slices bacon, 2 eggs, 2 sausages, 2 slices corned beef, 100g baked beans, Lidl roll, 4 strawberries, 100g double cream, glass of red wine. Total 48.5g CHO.
Pre meal 5.1, 1hr 6.4, 2hr 6.0.
Certainly a lowering of my peaks again.
I'll keep testing.
Maybe this would work.....
