Hi everybody

so after being diagnosed Type 2 in may 2017 and way back in 2003 with Grave's disease, now the thyroid apparently says 'Hey there I am still overactive'.I have been doing LCHF, and I do not have any overactive symptoms. Symptoms are rather the opposite e.g. cold hands and still I do not shed weight easily.
I have been on and of Carbimazol for several times, never could get myself to a surgery, always against doctors advice. Now the doctor wrote, a definite therapy would be advisable. Also concerned because my first HbA1c was 5.9% and now it has risen to 6.1%. As the thyroid system is complicated....I am confused right now. I am not sure what to do with this information right now. Doing Low Carb has had me feeling the best and I see now need to return to carb rich diet. I had the impression the low carb is anti-inflammatory. Could it be seasonal flare up? What ideas do you have?

I was diagnosed with graves in 1992. I had surgery to partially remove it. I instantly became underactive and started on thyroxine until my thyroid grew back (who knew) in 2000. I then had radio iodine at the Christy hospital and within a week or so I was unable to stand or even hold the telephone. Back on the thyroxine which changes dosage at least once a year. I had a scan of my thyroid and the radiographer couldn't see any thyroid tissue at all. I had to have the partial thyroidectomy initially as I had a goitre. It has certainly messed up my life and obviously affected my weight. I almost wish I'd never had the surgery but my condition was very advanced. I even got the poppy eyes ! The first time I was thyrotoxic I was a classic case. Shaking , fast heartbeat, unable to stay still, even started to be psychotic! I was skinny but barking! The second time I went thyrotoxic I was cold and couldn't lose weight.
