Certainly do wish you well.. Not sure when you were thinking of starting the fast but I would have dinner around 7pm then nothing the next day an break the fast at lunchtime the day after that then you have 2 sleep periods in the fasting window (which then lasts for about 40 hours). Also not knowing how much tea or coffee you imbibe each day but you may get some caffeine withdrawal thats why I drink tea and coffee as usual when not eating.Yes, this week I'm hoping to complete a 36 hr total fast (water only) I have another health condition which might benefit from this too. Wish me well Mark
Personally I would carry on with the tea especially if this is the first extended fast you are doing. You want to limit the variables as much as possible to get the best impression of what you are experiencing.I don't drink coffee but I'll miss my tea! I used to fast regularly before I was diabetic, usually for 24 hrs although I did havemuch longer periods of fasting while in hospital etc. I was aiming to break the fast with breakfastbut I might try your suggestion to carry on to lunchtime on the second day. The thing is I rise at 6.30-7.00am and walk for 40mins straight after breakfast so I'll see how I feel at the time. I should manage 36hrs, I'll let you know
Its easier for me because I never have breakfast anyway just a couple of large mugs of tea so waiting until lunchtime to eat is my norm.I don't drink coffee but I'll miss my tea! I did a three day fast a few months back Mark but as I was unwell for the first 48hrs I don't think that it countsPersonally I would carry on with the tea especially if this is the first extended fast you are doing. Good luck.. maybe start a thread in the fasting sub-forum to keep us updated?I did a three day fast a few months back Mark but as I was unwell for the first 48hrs I don't think that it countsI'll allow myself tea if I get desperate!
