Green Tea! Can i drink it any more?

Hello
As someone who has always struggled with my weight i have try many weird and wonderfull
potions many with green tea in
as the insulin has made me put the weight on again
its back on the diet
but can i drink green tea ?
a friend has told me that i cant drink it if im diabetic but she cant rember why

Stick the kettle on, Charlotte, the green tea can only do you good. Your friend maybe takes 3 sugars in hers, in which case she'd be right!

according to the article in this link, green tea boosts the effect of insulin.

The problem with green tea is that if you get caught drinking it then it
will ruin your street-cred. This problem can be overcome by telling everyone
that you're drinking hot absinthe. :wink:

Tea is an important part of my diet - to provide a very palatable fluid intake. I mostly drink green blend, but also red bush & normal tea, & occasionally herbal tea. It was established centuries ago that tea was very therapeutic - mainly because the water quality was suspect, & boiling killed the microbes.

On another forum I wrote:

Let's all give thanks for mugs of tea
There is no better panace-
a; Keep your guinness, gin & beer
A cup of tea gives greater cheer.

Once, when I sat down to dine
the waiter poured a glass of wine
but in the night, awake in bed
the wine was throbbing round my head.
so now my night-time drink is tea
it doesn't wake me up to go to the bathroom.

To which Kathryn replied:

you managed to go
the extra mile.

it did not scan
but it made me grin
I really like tea
but I don't like gin.

This was all inspired (if I can use that word) by her visit to A "Belgique Cafe" where she reported:

Belgique does make tea, but I had one there once where the young man forgot to put the tea bag in. He did blush when I asked if it was possible to get a tea bag in my hot water, I thought it was funny.
