Was diagnosed with T2 in September during a routine over 40 health check. I had no symptoms but was less of a surprise due to my lifestyle - I am a greedy pig and lazy to boot. HbA1c of 73 and LDL 5.1 Doc put me on metformin 1000mg and statins for my cholesterol and been taking these since with no side effects. He said I didn't need to do blood testing.

Been reading the forums and decided to introduce myself.

Since September I've changed diet and gone from 102Kg down to 84kg, also exercising more. Cut the **** from my diet and reduced carbs. My second blood test showed a HbA1c of 44 so I'm heading in the right direction.

Just like to thank everyone here for all the great advice I've been reading.

Hi. Welcome to the site. I have found it really helpful, and I'm sure you will too. Sounds like you've made good progress. Well done.

Welcome to the forum @scubaian ! Sounds like you are doing well with the weight loss and lower HbAic. Keep it up! I had become lazy too, after retiring, but have been exercising more since being diagnosed and I have more energy now.
