Not new at this - was diagnosed in 98, but I'm getting more aggressive on treatment, having joined the insulin club a few months ago. Fasting sugars are finally coming back down after a bunch of new meds from an unrelated heart scare in July.
Currently taking 80 u Lantus and 15 u Aspart, plus metformin, and a bunch of heart meds.
I've done a bunch of jobs in life, including funeral escort, and am currently writing. See my sig for more info about the first book. I lean Libertarian politically, for what that's worth (which isn't much where I live). Married, with a total of 8 kids. 1 from my first marriage, then 7 here, although one of those is away at college.
