hi, this is my first time on here. my 6 year old son is type 1 diabetic and had it for nearly 4 years now, he often complains of pains in his legs and says its like pins and needles and cries with the pain, i have asked his nurse if it could have anything to do with his diabetes but she said it shouldnt, does anyone know if i could be through his diabetes, thank you x

Hello and welcome

It can be tough for some children with diabetes. Maybe its his way of saying, 'I don't like having diabetes', problems at school or with his class mates. Have you talked to your GP about this ? Maybe you could keep a diary of when this is occurring to see if there is a pattern emerging. It's not nice seeing a child in any type of pain :(

I do hope you can get some answers soon, or another parent might be able to shed some light, if they have had something similar with their child.

Good luck

With my best wishes RRB

thank you for your comment, i have told my sons diabetic nurse about this but she is just putting it down to growing pains, she did say a few other parents have mentioned this about there children but said my son has not had diabetes long enough for it to cause any problems x
