Hi All

Have just bought some Ground Almonds for a receipe for Chocolate Chip Biscuits (they turned out really well), however the price of the Almonds are extremely expensive (600g's cost me $21.00), was wondering if LSA could be used instead as its a bit cheaper......also is LSA the same sort of thing as ground Almonds?

Thanks!

Hi Angela
Ground almonds are very expensive, I know. LSA flour is a NZ product, it is L(inseed), S(unflowerseed) and
A(lmonds). I think its a 3rd of each mixed together, a good friend brings me a supply over every so often. You can bake excellent biscuits with LSA, I use it to bake my low carb bread. Have a look at www.lowcarbcooking.co.nz, you will find lots of recipes there, there is also a forum.
All the best x x

I buy them in an Indian shop at £6-60 per Kg. Half the price of supermarkets. I normally blend with coconut flour at £5 per Kg & sometimes soya flour or milled flax at £10 per Kg.

All expensive, but what price health? And products are much more sustaining than wheat flour so I eat much less.
