Guess I should be pleased ?

You will see from my previous posts that I was diagnosed type 2 in Oct 2008. Since then I have been diet/exercise controlled (no medicine).

At the time of diagnosis I was probably just under 13st, I am now 10st.

Something strange has happened over the last month or so. All my bg figures seem to have dropped.

I rarely go above 5.7 and spend a lot of the time below 5.0 (4.6 to 5.0). Even first thing in the morning which used to be the worst time is rarely above 5.7.

But the strangest thing of all is that when I do eat food with plenty of carbs my numbers are not going up anything like as much as they used to do. Food which 12 months ago would have sent ny by up to 11.0+ now barely reaches 8.0 and even then is back below 6.0 well within 2 hours. (not that I often eat anything with enough carbs to do this).

It is almost as though my insulin resistance has dropped - at least a little.

I realise this may change again - I have come to the conclusion that nothing is predictable when it comes to Diabetes - but hey for now - I am quite pleased.

Just thought I would share.

That is absolutely brilliant Danny! :D

I shall just keep doing what I'm doing and live in hope! 8)

Danny,

Just remember to keep checking your bg regularly, but certainly looking good for now! :D

Hi Danny,
You are so right when you say that you should be pleased. Well done and you are also right about the unpredictability of diabetes. We all have twists and turns along the way which puzzle us at times. :?
Carry on doing what you are doing.

Catherine.
