Hi all new here, im just about to start my GWO training for work in America on wind turbines, im on 780G insulin pump and wondering if having Type 1 will hinder my chances of getting a job?
Hi @Gavlaaa91 and welcome to the forum. I'm sorry I can't answer your question. Have you made any enquiries with the course trainers etc, as they would have more information on this.
Was there a reason you wondered if diabetes would hinder your chances?
I agree with @hopful34 that you should ask your trainers about this? The obvious potential issue to me is what happens if you are climbing a turbine and go hypo???
Some jobs (eg heavy goods vehicle driving in the UK) do have quite hard qualification requirements for insulin users, because of the dangers of going hypo.
