Hi all,
I suffer from low iron levels from time to time and recently had bloods done that showed a mmol/mol of 51 and then 49 a month apart. I've now been told I need to see the diabetes clinic as the result 'confirms type 2 diabetes'. I'm very surprised by this, possibly due to my ignorance, as I've got no family history of it, never been overweight, eat really well and am very active. Also, the doctor I was seeing about my iron issues mentioned that low iron can affect hba1c results (unfortunately he has now retired). Has anyone else got a similar profile? Should I be expecting the clinic to test for type 1 antibodies?
Thanks,
Rachel
