Hi ..4ys T1..... I went for my annual eye check up today . After reviewing the images was told that one eye has a haemorrhage. They will review the images further at the hospital and send results to GP. Is this an early indication of a serious problem or is it normal ?. What can be done to stop this haemorrhage ?

Entirely depends how big and what caused it.

BG control is #1 plan for avoiding all complications

This may help with all eye problems and most other complications

you don't have to buy supplements if you get plenty of vitamins antioxidants and bioflavinoids in your diet as per the "eat the rainbow" thread

Hopefully if it was something serious they'd have started treatment immediately, let us know what the report says

I assume that the haemorrhage hasn’t affected your vision…

It is possible for the haemorrhage to reabsorb back into the eye and not cause you any real problems; it is likely though that you will be called to see the eye consultant for regular checking of your eyes…

They might decide to leave the eye to adsorb on its own, or they may decide that you need some laser treatment to prevent further bleeding with in the eye…

It is important that maintain the best possible control of your diabetes, as this does play a large part into how you will fair in the long run… As the better control you have the more you are able to limit or even stop further damage from happening to your eyes…

Definitely!
Tight BG control( at non diabetic levels) is the best plan. although it may not totally eliminate problems, it will minimise them.
It has been known to heal eyes too.

Hi..
Thanks guys . It is just nice to get some reassurance that this isn't the beginning of the end of my eyesight !! I will let you know what the full results are when i receive them
