Type 1 Hair falling out

I was diagnosed with type 1 a couple weeks ago after being in hospital with DKA aged 17 My sugar have been under control for the past week and staying around 4.5-6 most of the time and never exceeding 8.

Last night I lightly pulled my hair after seeing a post about hair loss and I pulled out a strand of hair. Then I did it again and another strand or 2 came out. I tried pulling hair from my legs and arms but nothing came out, but I did have hair come out from my eye brows.

I’m now worried about going bald or having Alopecia or even Lupus (I have pretty bad heath anxiety so I always fear the worst)

Could anyone let my know why some of my hair is falling out, thanks

Have you lost weight recently as this can affect hair loss.

Bear in mind that losing 50 to 100 hairs a day from your head is normal.

well when you have found a balance and eat healthy for some month then You might stop loosing hair rapidly.. it is normal that the body reacts in different ways when it is over-burdened

Just a quick google agrees with @Mr_Pot - losing a few strands of hair is perfectly normal and unlikely to be something to worry about.
This article (https://www.womenshealthmag.com/beauty/how-much-hair-loss-is-normal) seems to be quite good at explaining what is normal and what to do about any concerns you may have.

I have a lot of hair but I often clear out my hairbrush from strands than have come out over the last month. The hair on my head never seems to become depleted.

Take care of yourself - going through a diabetes diagnosis with DKA is a major trauma which needs some tender care.

Yeah I lost 13 kg when I went into dka and in slowly gaining it

If the loss was caused by weight loss then it will grow back, apparently.
I lost some weight and noticed hair loss, though not severely, this has stopped now that my weight seems to be more stable so I just need to be patient while it grows back.

It is true, weight loss can cause hair loss. It happens because of lack of minerals and vitamins. In order to stop losing hair I can recommend to calculate your protein intake, find vitamin supplements and, of course, change your nutrition. If you don't know how to do this, there is a good article on https://therighthairstyles.com/weight-loss-hair-loss/ that can help you. I hope you will solve the issue soon!
