Hello Bonnie,

Sorry, i can't offer any suggestions, but have more questions on the subject.

I recently used Veet wax strips for the Face. I live in France where I bought the product, which is probably same as sold in UK. I've used it occasionally in the past and found it leaves skin a bit red but is basically O.K.

This time I noticed at the end of the instruction leaflet (after I'd used it), that hair removal by wax is not suitable for the elderly or diabetics.

No horrible effects, but I'm wondering about this warning?

Any ideas anyone?

Jane.

Hi

They write that on wax products, but I asked diabetes UK and they said as long as you don't suffer from nerve damage it should be ok, just make sure the wax isn't too hot.

I have sensitive skin and when I use veet (only every now and then not everytime I use it - which is even more annoying!!) the skin on my legs feels hot, so I wipe it off straight away but then end up with blotchy skins that hurts a little bit so I put savlon on it to cool it down. Are there any other type 1 diabetics on here who have sensitive skin and use hair removal creams, what makes?? I have darkish hair and want it gone!!

Can diabetics use electroylosis?

Thanks

Hi,
just read your post regarding Veet I use Louis Marcell which is very good but please time it otherwise it will leave your skin with redness and dryness hope this helps. I use it because my skin is sensitive and some hair on upper lip is quite course.
