Can anybody tell me if it is normal for hair to get thinner and have more hair in the hair brush on the LCHF diet? I read somewhere that this can happen, but they said in the first couple of weeks. Can anybody recommend a supplement that is ok for heart patients? Or will this die down?

It happens with me - hairloss , I would say it slows down for me , its normal to lose 50-80 hairs a day Diabetic or not.

There are lots of reasons for thinning hair. Some medications can cause it, also it is a common issue with thyroid problems, also iron deficiency and anaemia. However, a B12 deficiency is also a reason, and this is commonly caused by Metformin.

@derry60 although I haven't noticed an effect on my hair since adopting a LCHF lifestyle I was losing a lot of hair when I had thyroid difficulties. If your hair loss persists I would recommend you ask your GP as there are several things that might cause hair loss, including thyroid issues.

Hugs!

I am already on thyroid medication, but since being on this LCHF diet I have noticed that my hair is getting thinner. Wondering if I should get some vitamins for hair or something

Hoping mine will die down, it started around 3 weeks ago, seeing more in my hair brush and my hair feels thinner, wondering if I should get a supplement for my hair. I am sure that I read somewhere about how this can happen at first on Keto

Just looked up Biotin from Holland and Barretts. Good for hair, nails, cholesterol, and regulates blood sugar so will give it a try, and as a person with heart probs can take it. See how it goes
