Handheld massagers - yes or no?!!

Hi all,

I was brought a handheld massager for Christmas that I had wanted for quite a while. I unpacked it all and when I started to read the instructions the third line stated "not recommended for use by diabetics"! Is this just the company covering themselves or should I genuinely not use it? I had my legs/feet checked with my consultant about 3 months ago and my circulation etc is really good.

Thanks

It will probably be the company covering themselves. The world is littered with messages about 'not suitable for diabetics'. Common sense applies plus a check with the GP or pharmacist etc if unsure. Those with badly controlled blood sugar do need to worry more.

Thanks for this! I was thinking that was the case, but there seems to be so many little bits I didn't expect that I thought I'd ask the question! Thanks again

If you have a recent HbA1c that is not far from that of a non-diabetic then I wouldn't worry. Otherwise, I'd check with your doctor to be sure.
