Hands/feet sensitive to cold

Hi all! Was diagnosed as type 1 a couple of years ago (I'm 30 now), and since then my hands and feet have become really sensitive to cold - I can't hold a can of drink that has been taken out of the fridge for more than a couple of seconds before it hurts, I can't even hold a cold chicken breast enough to chop it! The same with my feet - I live by the sea and went for a paddle yesterday and was in agony within seconds! It was cold as always, but not THAT cold!

Has anyone else experienced this? Can you put a name to it? Or suggest any kind of treatment? I'm active (I run regularly) and haven't noticed any other problems with my feet so far (touch wood). Waaah, it's frustrating!!! I can't imagine never being able to paddle in the sea again...

Hi,

Im type 2 but recently was diagnosed with Raynauds. I find that my main problem is with my index finger on my left hand. The tip goes white and I struggle to get it warm again. Also over the winter I suffered with Chilblaines on my toes. All symptoms of Raynauds. I find that my finger will go white if I hold it on a cold can of drink,(so I don't anymore).

If this sounds similar then speak to your doctor.
