My Accu chek aviva hand set fell into the water while on holiday. When I picked it from the water it was still vibrating and showing orange light on the top.

I took the battery out and put the battery and handset under the sun in 35cc now everything seems dry but as soon I put battery in to the handset it start continuous vibration.

Can someone advice please. Or anyway to reset the hand set that might work.

It's either not as dry as you think it is or it's knackered (and I'd probably go with the latter.)

Just out of interest, salt water or chlorinated pool?

My wife put mine in the washing machine last week; it seems to have survived

Accucheck aviva being phased out and strips being replaced by accuchek performa
So if you replace it get the performa as in a couple of months you'll have to get another

The new strip boxes are marked with a green square to distinguish them from the earlier test strips that were subject to a clinically relevant maltose interferance
The green symbol can be found on the box and the lable of the test strip container.
So if you have to get a new one get the performa as the original test strips are being phased out

It's probably not 100% dry inside. You're lucky it was air con discharge as there's not many ions in it so won't corrode/conduct much electricity and cause shorting.

If you can get hold of uncooked rice, chuck it in a bag of rice overnight, it'll help get the moisture out of the internals.

Thanks 1abrat for your advice mum told the same will do. Cheers all I will update you the outcome.

But for a note I kept it under the sun all day and it does vibrate while inserting battery.
