Happy Diabetes Birthday

October 1966 at 12 years old. I remember Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich being in the charts and everyone going on about some football match that England had won!

Dave Dee was practically a neighbour. Plus, I was 12 in '66 too.

End of Feb 1985, aged 30. Remember it well. Exhausted and twig-like. Went to Leicester Royal Infirmary on the bus, spent about 5 hours in the clinic, received first insulin shot and started to feel better before being allowed to go home. Somewhere I must have a record of that 'birthday'.

I was diagnosed on 7th September 2006 on my mothers birthday. She spent her whole birthday and the two days after that in hospital with me. I was diagnosed at the age of 9

On the 03rd December 2012, I was released from the hospital with my Type 1 diabetes diagnosis.
So, happy diabetes birthday to me!!
