Hi guys. So lately I'm having more hypos than usual. And a few times I've had them where I feel so nauseous during the hypo that I can't eat or drink. And even after my sugar gets back up to 7-11 I am shaking like a junkie so hard that when I get up out of bed I feel slow like all the energy has been drained from my legs. And I'm not talking immediately after the hypo, I'm talking up to 4 hours later still feeling very unwell and nauseated. I've had 3 episodes like this in the last 6 days. Tonight I called 111 and 999 because I had a major panic attack and was so scared of what to do because my sugars were dropping faster than I could physically get anything down me and I was scared of having a massive hypo. (I didn't, it just dropped very fast causing me to be unwell). I've read before that hypos can cause adrenaline that makes you sick, and also anxiety? I don't normally have issues with hypos, which is why this is weird for me.

I'm thinking this is not a diabetes thing and something else. I'm getting full/losing my appetite on some days the moment I take a bite of food. Yet other days I'm completely fine and can stuff my face with no issues. My stomach sometimes feels like it's full of air and I feel malaise/nausea on and off. I think the hypos are aggravating this as it seems I can't eat much food lately without feeling sick, and obviously during a hypo you just panic and eat as much as you can lol.

The only things that have changed for me lately are the following;

- I had that horrid chest infection that was going around about 1.5 weeks ago
- I stopped taking my birth control and had a period and felt like **** so I started taking it again
- I tried slim fast for a couple of days but it seemed to be upsetting my tummy so I stopped a week ago

I've had hardly any work as it's Xmas so I've not been over doing it or anything. I'm so sick of taking it easy and being stuck in bed lately! I will be speaking to my GP or diabetes clinic just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Write a diary...

Log everything.. bloods, food -detailing what food and have a look at whether certain foods are making you nauseous. (Do you eat tomatoes or onions-try stopping any food with these in)...
Those foods can also make bloating worse.

Try to have same food for a couple days.. work out carbs accurately and see what reactions you get on 2 or 3 days with specific foods...

Ie we make one big corned beef hash (without potato) and have for 3 days. Or a fish pie with celeriac and parsnip and broccoli instead of potato and again make this for 3 days. Then I can determine what food is aggravating my symotoms.

As all m food is homemade it can be a bit difficult to carb count accurately, so this is again why I try to eat same meal over 3 days.

I see you doc thinks you have a stomach ulcer... this will respond better if avoidance of tomatos onions n garlic in anything.

Also have a look at when you are eating... and how often.. you need to reduce these hypo's and I think you really need perhaps to try and record details and analyse foods and bolus effects....

You need to log down when nausea starts and finishes too...

Also finding a tasty hypo treat that works well can help... and something perhaps like a mentis mint that will melt quickly or being able to follow up with a dunked digestive may help if you are still able to treat yourself...
