Has anyone here tried high carb low fat diet completely plant based.

I love olive oil but it's not great for cooking, so I use Flora Vegan Buttery. Tastes OK but I prefer the olive oil based spread dor eating.

I like tofu and it likes me, so I eat it.

I don't think you can apply one person's nutrition requirements to another's. It's hugely variable dependent on body mass, height, activity level and age.

I would hope anyone going into veganism would be interested enough to do the research, visit a few vegan diet sites etc. There's loads of advice on there as to dietary needs, supplements etc

I'd edit for grammar if I knew how on this wretched app.

@WuTwo
I have occasionally tried tofu but never found it “floating my boat” taste and texture wise. Where am I going wrong? (I don’t have anything against the stuff in any way).

Do you press it for a while before marinading to squeeze out any excess fluid? You can use two plates and balance a weight on top, or I use a tofu press. Always got a block in the press.

Marinade for flavour, always. Tofu itself has no flavour and will take on the flavour of the marinade, or herbs and spices you use.

Or buy the Cauldron premarinaded stuff. Quick and easy in a stir-fry.

Okay. Got it. Use a marinade.

I eat a lot of Greek yoghourt that doesn’t have a lot of flavour either but it goes well with other things.

Thanks.

And press out the excess fluid or it'll be too soft.

That’s in the raw stuff, right?
Yes, that's right. The ready prepared sort are easier to start with. Most vegans use a huge assortment of herbs and spices in the cooking. There's a truly wide variety in a well prepared plant food diet. One vegan writer says every meal should be like a party in your mouth

Ladies and gents, this lively topic was going along nicely, but seems to be deflecting into tofu prep.

Back on-track please?

Sorry about that - deflection done with

If you want reasonably high levels of carbohydrate vegetable fat and Nitrogen compounds from a purely plant based diet you could do worse than cooking up the odd Oak or Beech tree plenty of carbs fats and Nitrogen in one of them suckers.
