I use the Aga Matrix WaveSence Jazz. For the last couple of weeks I've been testing before meals and at bedtime at nurse's request. My pre bedtime readings have been 9.3/ 10.4/ 13.3/ 11.8/ 10.6/ 8.6/9.3/7.6. Then last night I got the low battery symbol so changed both batteries then tested. My result was 6.5. I repeated couple of minutes later and it was 5.6! My fasting level this morning was 6.8 which is also lowest for weeks ( Has been in the 8's range). I have been low carbing and my levels have been gradually reducing but can I believe this sudden change or is it because I changed the batteries. What do you think??
Who knows??????? stranger things have happened, but more likely your hard work with your diet showing better results........or just maybe a batch of iffy strips........anyway keep up the good work.......
Oddly enough. battery depletion my meter is more likely to give error messages.. It just won't test.
I have an Accu Chek Moblile so battery power management accounts for a motor that drives the the strip cassette too?
Just keep doing what your doing & enjoy the improved results!
Low batteries could be the problem - they don't seem to be factored into the workings.
We just had a sensor driven light decide that it would not turn off until it had new batteries. My husband was very sniffy about the design, he being a retired electronics design engineer.
I've never seen this with my Contour meters, but I have a blood pressure monitor which can give occasional wonky readings when the batteries are getting low.
But as already suggested there could be various other causes - so just be happy and hope your readings continue at those nice new lower levels.
