Been feeling rough for a couple of days now tested this morning & positive for covid... yesterday was negative. My blood sugars seem to be up just tested & was 15 very unlike me usually a 5 or 6 been doing very well.
Changed from normal metformin to slow release but this was a few weeks ago.
Yesterday before bed was at 6.1
Can covid-19 do that ? Mess with your blood sugars?
Feel rough, like my heads about to explode & achy all over....
Do you need to let gp know you have it now ?
Worst part is I don't get sick pay for 3 days.

All illnesses and stress on your body can increase blood sugars.
Unfortunately, high blood sugars can also make your illness and stress worse so it can feel as if it spirals.
I don't think you have to tell your GP (or anyone ) you have COVID. But I want to thank you for protecting others and staying away from work when you are unwell, especially when you don't get paid for three days (which I think is shocking and ultimately bad for your employer if it encourages people to come in a nd spread sickness).

Seems such bad luck to be getting it now for the first time, but a useful reminder to us all that it's still out there.
Hope your symptoms are not too severe and you feel better soon

Thank you, will test again bit later to see what's going on.
Work in a supermarket so wouldn't want to give it to some elderly vulnerable people...

Covid 19 is still a new virus and I guess no one knows exactly what effects it can have but as soon as I was diagnosed with diabetes they were on my case immediately wanting me to have the vaccine so it must have some effect I guess

Well I'm back to work today... start later but my bloods stayed high for couple of day's but normal for me now back to 5 or 6.
Was told can return 5 day's after day you test & that you don't need negative test to return but I have tested & am negative now.
