Have stopped losing weight

The first couple of weeks (from Jan 1st) I lost a lot of weight on the LCHF diet - I lost one stone three pounds in two and a half weeks. I started an eight week course of steroids at the same time. I couldn't sleep for longer than three hours and was manic - cleaning out kitchen cupboards at three in the morning, for example. Unfortunately I could see myself starting to retain fluid from the steroids, moon face and fluid in the legs and hands. So although I continued with the low carb I wasn't quite as strict with myself, but stayed the same weight. Now I've been off the steroids for a week and being really strict with myself, watching the portion sizes and not snacking at all, but I seem to have put on weight!(2lbs). I do eat three meals a day - breakfast is usually two scrambled eggs, lunch is usually half a Lidl roll with a slice of cheese and two cherry tomatoes and supper is chicken or fish with either a variety of veg or salad. I enter everything I eat into My Fitness Pal, and it usually tells me I'm not eating enough! Where am I going wrong?

Dislikes
Diet drinks - the artificial sweeteners taste vile.
Having to forswear foods I have loved all my life.
Trying to find low carb meals when eating out.
Happens to us all.

You just have to stick with it. Hopefully after a while you will start to drop some weight again.

Well done for the weight loss so far.

As @LittleGreyCat says, just keep going. I lost over a stone quite quickly on LCHF, but it has now settled to 1-2 pounds a week. This is not linear progress - some weeks I'll stay the same and others I'll lose more. Keep drinking water - when I don't drink enough my weight loss stalls.

You might not be eating enough.. when we restrict food our body can sometimes start to slow our metabolic rate to compensate. This seems to happen more to some people than others. It's the reason why after calorie restricted dieting people regain the weight and sometimes more. Have you thought of intermittent fasting? This has been show to slightly raise our metabolic rate and maybe kick start weight loss. I skip breakfast and just have hot drinks (tea or coffee with cream) until lunchtime at the earliest.. just ate my first food at 2 pm this afternoon.I credit this along with a very low carb diet with bringing my blood sugars back under control and with weight loss.

steroids can be the whole reason why you have stopped losing weight... try counting calories as well...

I also fight with overweight..

Thanks everybody - I might try cutting out breakfast and just have coffee. I'm drinking plenty of water, I think. And just stick at it. Thanks for all your suggestions.

@bulkbiker may have outlined the cause - not eating enough. The same weight stall has happened to me @francesk - then I realised that I had been eating less and less. I should know this, having been a 'victim' of the eat less (and less and less to try at lose) move more dogma. Try the coffee tip, that does help me. Hopefully, your stall will suddenly clear and you'll be off down again. Don't get disheartened - you've done brilliantly so far.

@bulkbiker - do you class yourself as intermittent fasting when having cream in your coffee in the morning? Or, when IF-ing, do you just have black coffee?
