Have you ever?

horrible disgusting filthy people and loads more.
Since you become diabetic, have you ever had such a sweet tooth you just end up eating sweet stuff to a point where you've had a blood sugar of 33... And ends up going to hospital?!
What can I do to my sweet tooth getting so bad that I end up in hospital for something so worse than high bloods?
Help!!
 
It sounds like you may be dealing with other struggles in your life that may have caused you to act this way. Are you going through a tough time right now (outside of diabetes)?

I know it's not the answer you want to hear, but when was the last time you spoke to a therapist about these urges you're having?

We are all human and we each have our moments of weakness, but eating to the point of putting your life in jeopardy strongly suggests this isn't just a problem of having a sweet tooth.

I wish you the best and hope you will consider speaking with a professional that may be able to help you work through those times when it's difficult to resist these urges.

I think (and sure hope) you have some good friends who can help navigate you thru this. For me, standing in your shoes, it comes down to this. I hate hospitals with a passion and inflicting that misery on myself when I'm aware of the potential dangers ahead is not an option.

I'm not ready for that. I hope you aren't either. There is always a way out, so at least try. Talking to us is a damned good start.

I often have a sweet tooth and have fallen of the wagon. Levels have shot up to high 20.s but never went to hospital as my own fault

I used to have terrible control, and ate what I wanted, when I wanted. I would often eat handfuls of haribo without a care in the world. When I knew my BG was high, I would avoid doing blood tests, because I decided they would skew my otherwise "perfect" results. This cycle meant I never did blood tests, but assumed by BG was near perfect for at least some of the time.
CGM was the game changer for me. Once I got it, my eyes were opened, and suddenly I was thrown into a situation where I couldn't cheat, because every sweet has an immediate, and visible impact. Literally, overnight I went from out of control snacking to near perfection. It is that which has broken the cycle, and sweets are at the back of my mind. CGM is not cheap, and nor is it a golden bullet for all, but for me, it has been.
 
I've been through a similar thing...I was in total denial for many many years. For me...the trigger to pull myself together was when regular screening showed up mild retinopathy...the thought of losing my sight was enough to kick my butt into action. For you...who knows what your trigger will be...but surely you can't enjoy those hospital trips???
 
No I don't enjoy the hospital trips... I have small retinopathy in my eyes :( xx

Hi there, I know @ewelina makes low carbs foods that could help you out. At the end of the day, it's sitting down and thinking about why you actually do it, you could start a diary and write in it, or any bad/negative feelings or cravings, write them down on a piece of paper then tear it up and throw it away in the bin. Exercise is beneficial, just getting out and enjoying the fresh air with a bit sunshine, is a positive feeling.
You can change it around with determination and will power.
