I have, I've tried LANTUS and LEVIMER over the past few years, Both had several peaks during day and nightcausing low blood sugars, but at least the peaks always occured at the same time. 15 mnths ago I started treatment on a basal insulin called TRESIBA, It worked well for the first 2 mnth's, then suddenly started becoming unstable, peaks were varying and HYPER in the morning. Now it's even worse, often 4 lows a day and always 20 mmol/l after breakfast for the first 4 hrs. My hospital diabetic docter is set in his ways and thinks TRESIBA is a miracle cure. I think I need a more stable basal rate, like an insulin pump, what do you think, any ideas about how I can get one, when you have a diabetic docter who doesn't like insulin pumps ?

Hi. May seem obvious but have you had your injection sites checked. No insulin is going to work predictably if you are injecting into lumpy areas.

I will second that, I am now coming up to two months on Tresiba and it is looking good. The first month was quite erratic though until I completely moved away from the stomach as an injection site.

That said some people have reported problems here and gone back to their previous basal.
