having a struggle to lower by blood glucose

Hi. It does sound like you have a fairly complex set of issues but the pancreatitis may well have reduced your insulin production capability. Sitagliptin is another possible med. It extends the length of time insulin is produced after a meal by blocking an enzyme that switches off the pancreas. It did help me a bit until I finally had to go on to insulin. Don't worry if insulin is finally needed as it's made a big difference for me and not a hassle at one injection a day. If your HBa1C goes above 7.5, then NICE would suggest considering insulin although may be try Sitagliptin first.

Hi Daibell,

I am still learning about some of the terms I will look into HBA1c and NICE, more reading :D thanks for your comments I saw some improvement in my BG yesterday for the first time, I had my lowest reading midday yesterday at 11.8 mmol, and this morning my fasting BG was 12.5, which has improved from 15.8 yesterday morning, might be a blip or the increased Gliclazide might be helping I am on 160mg

See what the day brings

Thanks

Mark
