Having an off day

Hey all. Don't know whether any of you would have an idea whats going on here.
I got up at 11am this morning (usual for me would be about 6am) and since then blood sugars have been consistently high all day and has been difficult to keep it down (my usual is between 7-8). Highest today was HI (above 36), this reading sent alarm bells ringing but I haven't changed anything that I would usually do at the weekend. Do you think its anything to do with me getting up later? Any one else noticed this sort of thing happening to them?
Thanks for your time :)

Is it possible your blood sugar dropped very low (because you didn't have breakfast at the usual time), so your body could have been reacting to that and raising your blood sugar? I don't know if that would have an effect all day though. You might have a mild infection or something that might effect things?

Hi it may be a silly question but did you forget to take your medication ??
you would'nt be the first it is very easy if your daily routine changes.

It all seems to be OK now :). However I had a reading of 2.7 this morning and have just done another that is 21.5. I can only assume this is a reaction to the low this morning. Has anyone had low BMs in the morning? How did you correct it?

I'd treat it like I would any other hypo. Yes I would guess the highs are in reaction to the lows. I guess you need to adjust the levemir?

Did you over-treat the hypo this morning? the classic mistake is to eat more glucose than is necessary when experiencing a hypo, at 2.7 I would have had 3 glucotabs and waited 15 mins and tested, if my bg was back up above 4 I would then have a 10g snack to keep my bg stable and prevent it falling again.

Should you be experiencing early morning hypo's regularly then you need to cut back your basal insulin by 1 or 2 units.
