Been type 2 diabetic for 12 years. Two weeks ago started having hypo's at lunchtime. Normally quite active, not walking as much. Spoke to consultant last week, has changed med's a bit, but I'm still having hypo's. Can someone give me some advice. thanks.

Hi @nanny890 ,

Welcome to the forums, hope you find something useful here.

Tell us all what med's you're on.

metformin SR 2 in morning 2 in evening, 1.2 Victoza, 40mg Gliclozide in morning 120mg in evening.
My HBa1c is 73, back last year was 108. But was off medication for 6 months. My body cant handle any thing below 5 mml. I hope this helps in answering why I'm having hypos. Thanks

Hi @nanny890 , from the casual observers point of view it seems that you have 2 drugs (Victoza and Gliclazide) both working to stimulate insulin production and it might simply be that you are taking too much. You should discuss the medication and hypo's with your doctor or specialist.

Another thought. Exercise Can spike some people so maybe with less exercise you aren't getting the spike and are dropping instead. Were you power walking or just slow to moderate?

Probably the meds though as urban racer said

spoken to consultant he did say if i'm still dropping I must not take the gliclaride in the morning just the evening. I'm not walking up and down stairs, I work as a teachers assistant. My work place has changed no more stairs.
