Hayfever And T1

Hi everyone,
I'm on Levemir/Novorapid and have started this morning with manic hayfever. Just wondering if it's OK to take over the counter meds for it. I'll ask the pharmicist but it's nice to hear from 1st hand experience. Ideas, thoughts appreciated.
 
I take cetirizine, it’s the active ingredient in Piriton, but I use the Lidl own brand as it’s a fraction of the price and contains the same amount. When I’ve been to the pharmacy, who know me of old, so obviously know about the T1, that’s exactly what they suggest. I top up with a Beconase spray if I’m anywhere near an oilseed rape field - I’m hideously allergic to the yellow peril!
 
My GP prescribed cetirizine years ago and it doesn't affect my BGs. I reckon that any antihistamine would be fine, except one in syrup form.
 
I don't have hayfever but recently experienced a severe bout of bites which were treated with anti-histamine. I was taking Piriton and another which starts with "L" ... yes both at the same time.
They had no impact on my BG.

Like everyone else has said cetirizine or loratidine. I think lidls sell own brand. My lad has the worst hay fever I've ever seen and uses a really good spray from boots which you have to get from the pharmacy counter. It's a flixonase spray. Otherwise there is a spray called prevalin which is good if you don't want medications picked some up in home bargains the other day for only about a pound! Hope you feel better soon hayfever is the pits
 
I take a tonne of meds for hayfever and they don't seem to interact with insulin - I rattled them off to the consultant yesterday and she wasn't bothered. Not sure she realised I will take them all at once on a bad day though!

Does make my BG readings a bit erratic at times.

My nose has stopped so I'm not sure if it was the Paracetamols plus Piriton plus Prevalin or what but I don't care coz I'm going to Gardener' World tomorrow!! What gives with P medicines?
