Happy Mum - my son Jayden, 11 was diagnosed type 1 nine weeks ago. His HBA1c was a whopping 133 & DKA present. Yesterday at his DN meeting (not been for 3 weeks) we were informed that it’s has come down from 133 to 60 in just 9 weeks!
After being told initially that it could take months we are very happy. And the DN is so pleased with Jayden and his control so far.
It just makes things a lot more bearable when you know things are going okay (for now!!)

Just wanted to share my good news

Glad to hear this and well done on adapting so well and seeing positive results. They are much stronger than we give them credit for, our little t1 warriors :)

Brilliant news, both you and Jayden have adapted to diabetes life VERY well. You both should be so proud of yourselves. Long may it continue

What a result @Jayden2407 , and I so respect how involved you are with the young man's care, yet he is at the heart of all the decidions that are made. It must take enormous courage to walk that walk.

How is the young man himself feeling about it all?

Well done Jayden, you're a type 1 star :)

Thank you so much everyone @DCUKMod Jayden is doing just fine thanks for asking, he’s just getting on with things and has been doing his own testing and injections from 3 weeks in. Kids are so resilient aren’t they!
We talk about it regular so I can see how he feels about it all but at the same time I don’t make too much of a fuss as I want him to enjoy his childhood as much as he can without too much worry about it
