HBa1C gone down from 56 to 46 but dont know why?

I was diagnosed Type 2 July 2023 with HBAC1 of 56. It has steadily been rising from a base of 45 since 2009.
Decided to lose some weight, and went from 91 to 83 kilos.and readings initially went down to 52 but then started edging up again. Disheartened, I fell off the wagon and my weight creeped up to 87 kilos. I was tested month ago, and the figure was 46(!) i paid for a follow up yesterday (in case rhe 46 was lab error) and reading was 45 i.e back to 2009 figure. I am not and have never been on Metaformin , the only drug I now take is Finasteride (for an enlarged prostate) which i started about 6 months ago( Dr said this will have 0 effect on HB reading) but my sleep.qulaity is much improved. Obviously it is great news my HBA1c is falling but I dont understand. Anybody throw any light on this please
