I was diagnosed with type 2 about 4 years ago with A1c results varying from 48 to 53. Latest result was 49 despite eating 70 to 100 grams
Of carbs per day, which I track. Now I know this isn’t horrendous but I currently weight 38 kgs despite keeping up fats and proteins so cutting carbs further doesn’t seem realistic. I take a low dose of creon as I have an atrophied pancreas. Also suffer from bronchiectasis which seems to make me loose weight when I have a chest infection. Any tips from anybody please?

Are you sure you don't have T3C instead of T2?
It's when you don't produce enough insulin because of damage to the pancreas, and it often means you need creon as well.

Are you treated by a GP or an endocrinologist?

Had a telephone call on diagnosis (during Covid). Tested for GAD and c peptide - both negative. Creon came from a surgeon post CT reckoned I had chronic pancreatitis (I’m a retired nurse and have seen plenty of folk with chronic pancreatitis- I don’t think so). Just want to get some weight on without compromising my HBA1C. I don’t take meds for my blood sugar. I saw a dietician a couple of years ago when I weighed 35kgs who was lovely and I did hit 40 kgs. Problem with the nhs is every department looks at their own area and not the whole picture.

A shot in the dark with this @Pixie55 , but have you been tested for malabsorption issues? If your pancreas is damaged or compromised will it not affect how you absorb food, particularly fats and nutrients ? Just a thought. I guess the creon should do this.

Edited to add nutrients
