There was a thread on this, but can't find it now. Anyway, just got my results and got 5.7%.
So Quite pleased, but interestingly I used the "Nathan" formula on my true average BG and it suggested I should be 5.6%, so pretty **** close.
Also interesting, my surgery didn't even HAVE the results in the new IFCC units. Thought everyone was supposed to be using them? Obviously not.
So, where the heck are those chocolate hobnobs.........

Brilliant results Malc. Today is the only day when you are allowed to eat the entire pack of hobnobs. Let me know when you wake up from the coma.

Yes I assumed they all had changed over too.My surgery always got mine back from the Lab in mmol's and then told me what it was in "Old money" as a percentage.Must be an individual PCT thing perhaps?
Anyway, congrats on the new lower Hba1c result!! :D

They should have the new IFCC results, your surgery will receive the results in both formats.. As I found out when I phoned surgery for mine! The receptionist said 'Err it's got two here', so I explained why and can I have it in old money please the percentage one!

But well done,

Brilliant results Sheepy, well done. We all knew you were going to have good results this time.

Njoy the hobnobs, and don't share.

Well done Malc great result! Make sure you eat a good amount of grass with those hobnobs so you don't get hungry :D

Well done

Grazer gave me the magic key to my weight loss with his exercise advice, so the hobnobs are a thank you present.

I'll throw in some grass as well to balance things up a bit

I have just received my first result, taken 3 weeks after I was diagnosed. It was 55. What does this mean? How bad is it for my first baseline result. I think it converts to 7.1

Hi Sloan

That is exactly where I was 3 weeks after diagnosis back in dec.

It's not a massive number but still too high. Now the good news Got mine down to 42 - 5.99% ( I refuse to round it up lol ) in 3 months. You can do the same

No don't agree. have a hobnob. If you have reeeaaaally been abstaining ,like a good sheep, you may find you hate them now .

But then what wouldi you dream about ? Difficult one.....
Congrats on your result!

That's a great result for someone on 150-180g a day

Thanks for all the congrats everyone
I know now I could get to the low 5's by knocking the carbs back more, but 5.7 is near enough for an old sheep like me so, as they say In pontoon, I'll "stick"!
Until it all starts going pear shaped that is, then I'll make my choice between lower carbs or meds. Nice to have the choice I guess!

Your right, it is nice to have the choice, but I really don't want to increase my meds, so I'm best keeping the carbs low. Horses for courses though, so we all do what's right for us.
