I am so behind in posts on here, decided to hide my laptop in order to get more quality time with my family but miss catching up?

Anyway, first set of bloods since diagnosis. That was 60 in March and is now ... 41 :) so pleased. I am one stone lighter (more needs to go though), I was metformin but now on Gliclazide 40mg for now and see the PN on Tuesday :) increasing the LCHF meals within the family too and hopefully back to the gym next week.

Still some work to do as bloods are still high on a daily basis but thanks to all the advice on here, it's on its way to being kicked into remission :)

Had a fan holiday too :)

Very well done! Keep up the good work! I love it when my family approve of some of my low carb meals :)

Well done! Excellent news.

Hopefully you will not experience one of the side effects that bothered me personally. That is weight gain. After coming of Rosiglitazone (caused very bad weight gain for me) I was happily losing 1st a month without changing my diet. Then I was prescribed Gliclazide and not only did the weight loss stop, but I gained 10kgs.

Something I have always found strange about GPs is that they will continuously nag you about your weight even when you're doing all the "right things" to lose weight. As soon as they prescribe a drug which is behind weight gain, they stop and ignore your requests for help.

Your journey sounds a lot like mine. Well done and thanks for sharing as it lifts my spirits and encourages me when I see others at a similar stage.
Hba1C doesn’t lie, your daily bloods sometimes will (mine have been all over the place this week after a period of stability).
41 is under the bar and with a bit more time you’ll go lower.
